Gujranwala, The husband of a schoolteacher has been arrested for raping and blackmailing five underage schoolgirls at a government non-formal literacy center. The accused, who was running the canteen at the school, has reportedly been assaulting girls aged 11 to 14 for an extended period.

 

The alarming situation came to light when one of the victims shared her ordeal with her parents. Upon hearing this, the parents immediately lodged a complaint at the Saddar Police Station. The accused had been filming the victims in compromising positions, using these videos to blackmail them into silence.

 

Following the complaint, police arrested the suspect and seized his mobile phone, which contained several video clips of the victims. The accused has since confessed to his crimes.

 

Medical examinations were conducted at Gujranwala District Headquarters Hospital, where the doctors confirmed the rape of three girls and attempted rape of two others. These findings are now subject to further forensic testing to confirm the full extent of the crimes.

 

Punjab’s Minister for School Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat, took swift action by suspending two teachers and ordering the temporary closure of the school. Additionally, Secretary of the Literacy & Non-Formal Basic Education Department, Syed Haider Iqbal, has set up a three-member inquiry committee to investigate the case. The committee has been instructed to submit its report within 24 hours.

 

Gujranwala City Police Officer, Rana Ayaz Saleem, is overseeing the legal proceedings against the accused, who is now facing five charges of rape and child pornography under sections 376 (iii) and 292 (C) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

 

This case has shocked the local community, raising questions about the safety and protection of children in educational institutions. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to ensure that justice is served.
