Sindh Tourism Minister Proposes Kartarpur-like Corridor for Hindu and Jain Devotees

Sindh Tourism Minister Advocates Kartarpur-like Corridor for Hindu and Jain Pilgrims" During an event in Dubai promoting tourism in Sindh, Minister Zulfiqar Ali Shah proposed the establishment of a religious corridor akin to Kartarpur on the Pakistan-India border. This corridor, suggested for Umarkot and Nagarparkar in Sindh, aims to facilitate devotees of the Hindu and Jain faiths. Umarkot, home to the ancient Shri Shiv Mandir, and Nagarparkar, with its abandoned Jain temples, hold historical significance for these communities. Shah also suggested initiating a weekly flight from India to Sukkur or Larkana to cater to religious tourists. The Kartarpur Corridor, inaugurated in 2019, serves as a model, reducing travel distance for Sikh pilgrims to the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur. This proposal reflects efforts to promote religious tourism and strengthen cultural ties between Pakistan and India.
