Sukkur Couple Found Dead in Mumbai Home

The bodies of Sanjay Kumar and Sapna Kumari, a couple originally from Sukkur, Pakistan, were discovered inside their residence in Mumbai, India. According to Indian police, both were stabbed to death under circumstances that are currently under investigation.

The couple, who had reportedly moved to India six months ago, were found after their two young children returned from school and were unable to enter the house. When repeated knocks on the door went unanswered, neighbors alerted the authorities.

Upon arrival, Mumbai Police broke the door lock and found both Sanjay and Sapna lying lifeless inside. The bodies were shifted to a local hospital for post-mortem examination, and the house was sealed for forensic investigation.

Speaking to Panhji newspaper, Dr. Ashok Kumar, father of the deceased Sapna Kumari, said the family had no known enemies. However, he revealed that Sanjay often quarreled with his daughter, even while living in Sukkur. “She never shared too much with us, but there were tensions,” he stated.

Sapna’s brother, Vijay Kumar Wadhani, believes the case may be one of murder-suicide. “My brother-in-law killed my sister and then took his own life,” he alleged. “This is a heartbreaking incident. We urge the Pakistan government to assist us in bringing back their bodies.”

Sanjay Kumar’s brother, Nand Lal, expressed shock at the news and stated that the family was still waiting for the post-mortem report and official police findings. “We can't say anything until investigations are complete,” he added.

The tragedy has drawn attention on both sides of the border, raising concerns over the wellbeing of migrants and the need for coordinated consular support in such cases.
