8 Soldiers Martyred in Suicide Blast During Terrorist Attack on Bannu Cantonment

Eight soldiers of the Pakistan Army were martyred in a suicide blast during a terrorist attack on Bannu Cantonment. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a group of 10 terrorists attempted to breach the cantonment but were thwarted by the vigilant security forces.

The terrorists, unable to penetrate the cantonment, resorted to using an explosives-laden vehicle to ram into the cantonment wall, resulting in a powerful explosion. The blast led to the collapse of a section of the wall and caused significant damage to the surrounding infrastructure.

In the fierce retaliatory action that followed, all 10 terrorists were neutralized by the security forces. The ISPR identified the martyrs as Naib Subidar Muhammad Shehzad, Havaldar Zal Hussain, Havaldar Shehzad Ahmed, Sepoy Ashfaq Hussain, Sepoy Subhan Majeed, Sepoy Imtiaz Khan, Sepoy Arsalan Aslam, and Lance Naik Sabz Ali of FC. These brave soldiers hailed from various districts including Poonch Azad Kashmir, Khushab, Neelum Azad Kashmir, Muzaffarabad Azad Kashmir, Karak, Bahawalpur, and Lucky Marwat.

The ISPR has attributed this heinous act of terrorism to the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group, which operates from Afghanistan and has previously used Afghan soil to orchestrate terrorist activities in Pakistan. The ISPR urged the interim government of Afghanistan to take decisive action against such elements.

"Our armed forces remain resolute in the fight against terrorism and are committed to defending our motherland and its people against all threats," stated the ISPR. This tragic event underscores the ongoing challenges faced by Pakistan in its battle against terrorism and highlights the bravery and sacrifice of its soldiers.
