DG ISPR Calls Out Political Mafia's Attempts to Undermine Stability Determination

Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif condemned what he termed as a coordinated campaign by political elements to politicize efforts aimed at stability determination in Pakistan. He emphasized the need to counter organized propaganda and misinformation targeting the armed forces.

Body:

Lt. Gen. Sharif disclosed that the armed forces conducted 22,409 intelligence-based operations this year, resulting in the elimination of 31 most wanted terrorists. He underscored the non-military nature of stability determination efforts, describing it as a coordinated anti-terrorism campaign. The DG ISPR criticized attempts to controversialize these efforts, attributing it to a political agenda aimed at obstructing national stability objectives.

Addressing recent incidents, including the Bannu attack, Lt. Gen. Sharif defended the military's response, stating it followed standard operating procedures despite provocations and violent actions by miscreants during peace marches.

Highlighting broader security concerns, he questioned the soft border policy at Pakistan's frontiers, advocating for stricter controls to curb illegal activities. Lt. Gen. Sharif also raised concerns over the rise of digital terrorism, urging balanced regulation against misinformation that exploits freedom of expression.

As debates intensify over national security strategies, Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif emphasized the military's commitment to combating both physical and digital threats. He called for collective efforts to uphold stability and address challenges posed by propaganda and political manipulation.
