Jamaat-e-Islami to Protest Against Postponement of Islamabad Local Body Elections

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) announced that it will organize a protest demonstration at Aabpara Chowk tomorrow to oppose any attempts to postpone the local body elections in Islamabad.

JI Islamabad Ameer Nasrullah Randhawa stated that the party will not allow the government any opportunity to evade holding the elections. “Every attempt to rob the rights of the people will fail,” he said.

Randhawa accused the government of trying to delay the elections out of fear of defeat, noting that this marks the fourth time the rights of Islamabad’s citizens are under threat. He added that JI would resist vigorously against such efforts.

The demonstration, he said, aims to convey a clear message that the protection of public rights and democratic processes will be ensured at all costs. “No political or administrative conspiracy will be able to influence the opinion of the people,” Randhawa emphasized.

The protest is also being organized to encourage citizen participation and strengthen Islamabad’s democratic process, ensuring that local body elections are held in a timely and transparent manner.
