Jordan’s King Abdullah II Praises Pakistan Army’s Role in Regional Peace During Meeting with COAS Asim Munir
Amman, October 27, 2025 — Jordan’s King Abdullah II has commended the Pakistan Army for its significant contributions to regional peace and stability during a meeting with Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir, according to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The army chief, who is currently on an official visit to Jordan, met the Jordanian monarch in Amman. The meeting was also attended by Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II.
During the discussions, both leaders focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in defence and security and exchanged views on regional developments.
“His Majesty appreciated the professionalism and contributions of the Pakistan Armed Forces towards regional peace and stability, and expressed his desire to further strengthen defence collaboration between the two brotherly countries,” the ISPR said.
COAS Munir conveyed warm regards from the people, government, and military of Pakistan to the Jordanian leadership.
During his visit, the COAS also called on Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordan Armed Forces, where he was presented with a guard of honour.
Both sides reaffirmed their deep-rooted and historic military ties, and Jordan’s top military leadership praised Pakistan’s armed forces for their commitment to peace and regional security.
The visit to Jordan followed Field Marshal Munir’s trip to Egypt, where he held meetings with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and senior defence officials to strengthen strategic coordination and cooperation in security, technology, and economic sectors.
