England's captain Jos Buttler will miss the third T20 International against Pakistan, as he has returned home for the birth of his third child, the team announced ahead of Tuesday’s match in Cardiff.

Buttler led England to a 23-run victory at Edgbaston on Saturday, securing a 1-0 lead in the four-match series after the first game in Leeds was washed out. England Cricket confirmed his absence with a statement: "Jos Buttler is set to miss our third IT20 match vs Pakistan as his wife Louise is expecting the birth of their third child."

In Buttler's absence, all-rounder Moeen Ali will take over as captain. The decision comes as Pakistan aims to bounce back and stay competitive in the series. A victory for Pakistan would keep the series alive and boost their confidence heading into the T20 World Cup.

Buttler's availability for the final match of the series at The Oval on Thursday remains uncertain. The England squad is scheduled to depart for the T20 World Cup in the United States and West Indies on Friday, where they will compete in Group B against Australia, Scotland, Oman, and Namibia.

Pakistan, needing a win to level the series, will look to capitalize on Buttler's absence and build momentum ahead of the World Cup.
