Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Establish Separate Secretariat for Southern Districts

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government under Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has decided to establish a separate secretariat for the southern districts of Kohat, Bannu, and DI Khan.

The announcement, made by CM Gandapur, outlines plans to create a dedicated administrative setup tailored to the specific needs of these divisions. Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, Abid Majeed, has been entrusted with overseeing the establishment of the secretariat and coordinating the formation of directorates for all departments operating in the southern districts.

Under this initiative, comprehensive proposals for amendments, financial management, planning, and service delivery mechanisms will be formulated in accordance with the Rules of Business. The Additional Chief Secretary will directly report to the Chief Minister, ensuring streamlined governance and effective implementation of policies across Kohat, Bannu, and DI Khan.

The Administration Department has affirmed its commitment to supporting this administrative restructuring, emphasizing the potential for improved public service outcomes and enhanced governmental responsiveness in the southern regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

This strategic decision underscores the provincial government's proactive approach towards decentralization and regional development, aiming to empower local administrations and foster inclusive growth in southern districts. As preparations for the new secretariat advance, stakeholders anticipate tangible benefits in terms of governance efficiency and public welfare enhancement.
