Pakistan's Cricket Board (PCB) is contemplating changes to its central contracts following the national team's disappointing performance in the T20 World Cup. Reports suggest that captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan may be removed from the A category of central contracts.

 

Sources within the PCB indicate that a new selection committee will play a crucial role in finalizing the revised contracts. However, despite potential changes in categories, the salaries of contracted players are not expected to be reduced.

 

There are speculations that Shaheen Afridi might take over the captaincy from Babar Azam for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. This decision is part of broader deliberations aimed at rejuvenating the team after its recent setbacks.

 

Regarding Mohammad Rizwan, sources suggest that his inclusion in the Test squad could be uncertain, indicating potential challenges ahead for the player.
