Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed a new application seeking a medical examination of party founder Imran Khan, raising concerns over what it described as a lack of transparency regarding his health.
Speaking to journalists, PTI Chairman Barrister Gauhar confirmed that the application had been submitted, stressing that uncertainty surrounding Imran Khan’s health was a serious matter. He criticised the government for taking an extended period to provide information and alleged that even then, complete details were not shared.
Barrister Gauhar demanded that Imran Khan’s personal doctors be granted access to conduct a medical examination, saying this would help address growing concerns about his wellbeing.
“Not informing about Imran Khan’s health is worrying,” he said, adding that conflicting statements by government representatives had only deepened doubts. He questioned the credibility of federal ministers, stating that if they lacked confidence in their own statements, it was unclear what assurance they could offer regarding the PTI founder’s health.
Separately, PTI leader Asad Qaiser also criticised the government while addressing a press conference in Swabi. He accused government ministers of repeatedly making false claims about Imran Khan’s health condition.
Asad Qaiser further pointed out that even the chief minister of a province was not allowed to meet Imran Khan, questioning the rationale behind denying such meetings. “What difference would one meeting make?” he asked.
PTI leaders reiterated their demand for transparency and access, stating that ensuring proper medical care and clear communication regarding Imran Khan’s health was a matter of basic rights and public concern.
