Seven people sustained injuries on Tuesday following an explosion caused by a gas leak at the Darman Hospital in Balochistan’s Pishin district.
District administration spokesperson Sami Tareen confirmed the incident, stating that the explosion occurred in a room of the private hospital, causing significant damage to the building's interior, including walls and windows.
Casualty and Rescue Update
Tareen reported that four of the injured were shifted to Quetta for advanced medical care, with one in critical condition. The remaining three were treated and discharged.
Recurring Gas Leak Incidents
Gas leak explosions remain a recurring hazard across Pakistan, often leading to severe injuries and fatalities.
- Recent Incidents:
- Last week, nine people sustained burn injuries in a similar explosion at a food outlet in Rawalpindi's New Town area.
- Tragically, another individual lost their life in a house explosion in Faisal Colony, Rawalpindi.
- Earlier this month, an LPG tanker explosion in Multan claimed six lives and injured 38 others.
Safety Concerns
Authorities have urged citizens to prioritize gas safety measures, particularly during the winter season when gas usage spikes. Proper maintenance of gas connections and awareness of leakage signs can help prevent such tragic incidents.
